Northside Flower Market Brisbane

Did you catch our latest posts on Facebook? Brisbane Northside Flower Market held a launch party to introduce their new freeze-dried Colombian rose, Enchanted Rose – and a very glamorous night it was too!

Lots of bubbly flowed, delicious nibbles were… nibbled, exotically dressed models paraded the room, decorated with flowers – and a dramatic fairy-lit entrance to the runway (catwalk – which do you prefer?) was created from our lush native greens.

Countdown to Fleuramour

In Our 2015 Fleuramour 2015 Diary by admincedarhill

It’s only three weeks to go until the biggest public flower display in Europe opens. On 25 September over 100 of the world’s leading floral designers takes over the entire castle and grounds of Alden Biesen, Belgium, to create Fleuramour.

And if Fleuramour isn’t the biggest in Europe, it’s definitely the biggest in Belgium and it’s most certainly the biggest for us at Premium Greens!

Our sponsored designer Lana Lichman has given us a sneaky peek at her designs for this event. She’s going to create a 2 metre wide globe of aluminium piping, with a central level platform. Think of it like planet earth, with the equator right through the middle. These are her personal sketches:

‘Lana Lichen shares stage two of the Fleuramour design process, the wire frame mock-up’

The frame will be covered in as many of our gorgeous native Australian foliage varieties as Lana can include. It’s spring here in Queensland so supply will be good – and almost all  of our greens are available year-round.

There will be a full skirt of our super-length Steel Grass hanging from the equator line, and a bed of soft Umbrella Fern covering the platform.

Between the frame struts will be Emu Feather™ and Koala Fern™, Didgery Sticks™ and Gymea Leaves, Flexi Grass™ and Sea Star Fern™.  As a final decoration, the renowned orchids of Anco Pure Vanda will add a pop of colour.

Foliage Possibilities with Lana Lichman

In Our 2015 Fleuramour 2015 Diary by admincedarhill

We’re talking foliage possibilities this week with our Fleuramour florist Lana Lichman. Anything is possible, of course! Most of our native foliages are available year round which makes choosing which to take and which to leave behind very difficult…

Lana has decided to incorporate as many of our iconic native foliage varieties, reeds, grasses and ferns as possible, to show the visitors…. Something really unusual and different to the usual woodland-style bush greenery normally available in European florist shops.

We’re used to exporting our foliage around the world, so shipping is no drama for us. But we’re looking closely at how to ship longer lengths of foliage, to help create a really dramatic eye-catching piece of floral art. Plus, Lana has her discerning designer eye on some more unusual products we only offer on the domestic market, or rarely have available…

Follow the progress on our social media accounts – Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter – and our regular posts here. You’ll see how the planning and preparation for the event is progressing, and get exclusive behind the scenes views of the creative process!
